A lovely example of a 10th century AD Nishapur bowl painted to the exterior with black and orange spots and to the interior with pseudo-Arabic script.
The bowl has been restored and was likely found in pieces / shards when originally excavated. The restoration is extremely well done. Marked to the base with a label reading, 'C. 135' which I suspect relates to where it was found (dig accession number).
